ABOUT

The coming together of Fashion Creatives (designers of apparel and accessories, fashion bloggers and editors. Fashion stylists models, and model agencies) in Zimbabwe through the forming of a Fashion body called the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ) which was registered in 2020.
FCoZ seeks to represent the interest of the Fashion Creatives in Zimbabwe by harnessing the talent in the subsector. The resources that are available in the subsector will seek to collaborate with different entities and organizations to help grow and capacitate the subsector and see it contribute holistically to the growth of Zimbabwe as well African and Global Fashion.

2022 will mark the rooting and emerging of a powerful, viable and sustainable Fashion Creative Industry, but we cannot do it alone. We are excited to share our planned activities, campaigns, events and more with you. There is a great opportunity for collaboration, programming that will result in our strong contribution to the national GDP.

TRUSTEE – PATIENCE MUZANENHAMO LUSENGO

PATIENCE MUZANENHAMO LUSENGO is a multitalented entrepreneur with diverse speciality in the local and international arenas of fashion, modelling, entertainment ,event management, marketing as well as cutting edge corporate image and communication workshops.

CHAIR – JOYCE CHIMANYE

Zuvva is a lifestyle brand which covers the areas of apparel, fashion accessories, home accessories, and body care products. The brand is currently focusing on the apparel. Apparel – And Afro Contemporary brand, consisting of the Ecowear and Safari lines. Zuvva is inspired by Zimbabwean nature. Its lush vegetation, earthy rock formations and vast Savanna grasslands, which help to structure the mood of Zuvva’s simple and yet crafted silhouettes. Zuvva is a Ready to Wear , Slow Fashion and Natural Brand. The Zuvva lines comprise of mainly natural fibres, consisting of 100% natural Zimbabwe cotton., as well as imported linen, denim, silk. Zuvva works with a monochromatic color palette.

VICE CHAIR-PAIDEMOYO CHIDEYA

Fashion Designer Paidemoyo Chideya has spent the last twenty years discovering what it means to become not only the epitome of the classic, but the innovative of fashion as well. With her product line, it is clear that this designer is here to make her mark on the fashion world. Born in Zimbabwe, raised, in Stockholm, London, and with nuances in Paris, Paidemoyo learned to refine her design eye through the diversity of the multiplexes of the cultures that surrounded her upbringing. Upon her New York City arrival and determined to learn and succeed in the fashion realm, she apprenticed for Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein and the likes of Ralph Lauren, where she learned to refine her eye for vintage, style, eloquence and demure. Now mature and ready to entrance the world with her own style, she has created DeMOYO which encapsulates her vision of the fashion world and her efforts to give back to a work that is in desperate need of healing. This design not only has a vision=, but genuinely works on infusing help into the infrastructures of suffering economies, not only by being eco-conscious, but by creating jobs where jobs are needed right in the heart of the problem, sourcing locally in Africa.

TRUSTEE – TAPFUMANEI MUNENGE

Tapfumanei Munenge is a Zimbabwean fashion designer whose first fashion collection debuted in 2014 at Zimbabwe fashion week and has since led his company to become a global brand. Tapfumanei was born on the 25th of March 1991 in Guti District Zimbabwe. Interned at Spero Villioti Johannesburg South Africa. He launched his fashion studio in Harare Greystone Park in 2017.His first runway show was in 2014, Tapfumanei achieved great reception by launching his brand. Today his company has achieved great success with launching its second brand in Johannesburg. His signature looks include well fitted couture gowns that sculpt the female figure. He studied his Honours Degree in Fashion and Textiles at Chinhoyi University of Technology.

TRUSTEE - KARIN CORIC

Zimbabwean born Karin is the Owner/Principal and CEO of Top Model Zimbabwe. Top Model Zimbabwe is the Official Partner and Model Mentor for European Top Model, not only for Zimbabwe, but for the African Continent as well as being the Model Mentor (Southern Africa) for Elite Model Search Worldwide, which is one of the world’s most prestigious International Model searches. Karin grooms and nurtures women and men to follow careers in modeling, and through her Self Confidence coaching uplifts young adults to be more self-confident and reach their full potential in whatever they choose to do in life. Karin was awarded Business Woman of the Year, Special recognition in Girl Child Empowerment, Grooming and Leadership Development in 2018 and again in 2020, Model Agency of Year and Top 100 Business Brands at the Business and Leadership Awards. Karin has also just won Fashion Magazines Businesswoman of the Year 2022. She is an Entrepreneur, transformational Self Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Mentor, Humanitarian and Social Influencer. Karin is the Chairperson of the Model Industry Association, sits on the boards of some local Charities as well as the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe. Having lost her husband to Cancer, Karin is a widow and works hard to give support to and is passionate about the Cancer Charities she serves. She is a mother to 3 wonderful adult children, all exceeding in their own fields.

TRUSTEE – SHARON DINGILESI

Guided by her mantra ; “to love, to serve and to create,” Sharon Dingilesi is a Zimbabwean born and Paris trained fashion designer currently on a purpose-driven journey to move humanity forward through the creative industries. After completing her degree, she launched her eponymous brand which seeks to serve the modern woman with clothing designed at the intersection of beauty, craftsmanship and storytelling. Sustainable living, women in art and culture preservation are some of her passions to name a few. If not in a garden somewhere reading a fiction novel, you'll most probably find her exploring textiles through knitting or playing with text in calligraphy and always, with a cuppa tea in hand.

TRUSTEE - DANAYI MADONDO

Danayi Madondo is a creative entrepreneur. An experienced fashion designer, art director, image consultant & project coordinator. Her work utilizes fashion in tandem with mixed disciplines such as still and moving pictures, performance art, traditional sounds & objects as a vehicle to narrate contemporary Zimbabwean narratives - allowing her to bring forth art that has a sense of mysticism, tradition & spiritualism. Danayi's fashion works have been exhibited at the Circular Fashion Summit in collaboration with Lablaco as 1 of 10 honoree BIPOC designers. She has presented fashion workshops for Fashion Open Studio & has seen her collaborative Fashion Revolution documentary titled, The Therapy of Fashion, become a BOKEH Fashion Film Festival selection. This 2022, Danayi was selected as 1 of 9 global co-creators/ curators for the State of the Fashion's: Ways of Caring 2022 at the Arnhem Biennial.

ADVISOR - MARSHALL MALIKULA

Marshall Malikula affectionately known as "Marsh Malik" is a multi talented award winning Fashion Stylist, Creative Director, Fashion Model Coach, Marketing and Brand specialist with a proven track record with internationally renowned Brands such as Truworths, Daniel Hector and Billabong across Southern Africa. Marshall is also the founder of Image Mechanics a creative consultation agency and currently volunteers with the Fashion Council of Zimbabwe.

TRUSTEE- TAFADZWA MOYO

The Designer who is Tafadzwa Moyo better known by his fashion moniker “Taf de Taylor”, is a Menswear has showcased his talent at various international fashion shows such as the renowned South African Menswear Week and the International Fashion Showcase in London. He is the Founder and Creative Director of top Zimbabwean streetwear brand Kidd Hunta which has also been featured / profiled in a number of regional and international magazines including the GQ magazine and the Business of Fashion.

TRUSTEE EGLET MTENGWA NYABVURE

Eglet Mtengwa Nyabvure was born in Mberengwa Zimbabwe. A qualified Telecommunications Engineer who was driven by a passion to create a clothing line which spoke identity and authenticity. She thus created and founded Pfeka, a brand which embeds subtle prints and patterns inspired by Africa into everyday wear. Her collections touch creation of unique active and sportswear, casual as well as corporate wear with visible story telling prints. Even though based in The Netherlands, she has a strong connection with Zimbabwe and has a whole collection inspired by Zimbabwe’s beauty and heritage. Her work is visible on www.pfeka.com

TRUSTEE - BUTHOLEZWE NYATHI

Butholezwe Kgosi Nyathi is a cultural policy scholar and practitioner. Butho is former Regional Director at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo and also previously served as Programs Manager at Amagugu International Heritage Centre. Butho is a professional arts administrator and creative entrepreneur with 10 years of experience. Butho is a 2016 Mandela Washington Fellow.

TRUSTEE - YOLANDA NGWENYA (BAKHAR)

Yolanda Ngwenya (Bakhar) has been featured twice on GQ South Africa and Glamour Magazine South Africa. She is an African Women's Entrepreneurship Program alumni and has showcased in Durban Fashion Fair, Washington DC, Santa Fe New Mexico and Chicago Showrooms with the US Embassy.
